Karel Dicker
Karel’s work is about humanity and its position on this planet. The work varies from designing models of utopic cities, to paintings about the individual human and its inner battle with the outer world. What interests him most at the moment is how humanity searches for solutions of its problems, and how one invention leads to a new one, which subsequently creates new problems.
The ENCI-quarry is a perfect example of how people have collaborated over the years, and excavated a gigantic plateau in order to produce cement for the construction of houses and streets.

John Vinken is Karel’s interlocutor, who works at the ENCI and as quarry tour guide. Thanks to John, Karel came in touch with the factory terrain and its employers, and got fascinated by the raw industry.
